Self Improvment

This is one of my favorite photos, first because it is such an interesting idea for a photo and also because it reminds me that I must always be challenging myself in order to improve. In any aspect in life it is important to always be pushing the limits of what you think yourself capable. I feel that this is very important in life, a person should always be challenging themselves in some aspect of their life. Whether mentally or physically, I feel that the only way that people grow is by making themselves go outside of their comfort zones. This is also a reminder that I am my own worst enemy, and that when something is going wrong in my life I should look to see what I am doing wrong. It is easy for me to blame other people when things are not going my way, but ultimately I know that I must look to my self to improve my situation.

  1. I like the picture and it seems like a really good starter for a topic. I think a scene would help this piece.

  2. i like the picture and thought this piece had a lot of potential initially. The writing was lacking and turned the photo in a work on "self worth"? I liked how you tied the photo to your feelings but the photo fizzled out after the first verse.

  3. Excellent photo, but it makes no sense logistically. Even in the mirror, he would be moving the white pieces so playing oneself in front of a mirror is not inherently better or more effective than playing oneself else where.

  4. I like the topic-- and I assume that if you were planning to make an essay out of this, you would flush it out more with scenes and the like. But a good jumping off point.

  5. It's a neat little photo, without a doubt - but other than the concept it gives, it seems pointless after the first sentence. Is there another photo that could accomplish the same thing? Could even be a mirror, though; that photo is a great one. The piece is nice as a short one, but for any expansion may require a few scenes out of life, as fun as unending philosophical and psychological chatter can be.
